Bella

When I am a big 5 year old, I want to go to Italy. At Anna and Tino's wedding, I learned lots of things about Italy.

  • When Italians kiss each other, they kiss on both cheeks.
  • Italians can eat pasta at any time of the day or night (even at the end of a wedding party).
  • Did you know that Bella isn't just a delicious sparkling wine, it is also the Italian word for 'beautiful'.

Partners In Crime

Can you believe it, I know another AJ!
I met him at Anna and Tino's wedding.

He was heaps of fun to play with. We went on adventures on the beach, climbed on the boats, ran away from the other kids and hid in the trees to eat all of the maggots and chips. We even dared each other to do crazy tricks.

AJ is so cool, I hope I get to play with him again some time soon.

Here Comes the Bride

Anna and Tino finally got married! Mum and dad said they were ready to get married years ago, it just took them forever to get organised. I guess it must be hard work working out how to have a wedding in Australia when you live in London and have people coming to the wedding from all over the world.

I met so many people at the wedding, but some of the people already seemed to know who I was. (I guess that some people that I don't know actually read about my adventures!) There were lots of Italian people at the wedding, as well as people from Iceland and of course from Australia and London too!

I love weddings. I hope that when I get married, everyone has as much fun as I had at Anna and Tino's wedding.

'Constructions' for Cooking

Did you know that you call the 'constructions' for cooking a recipe?

At school today, I worked in Andrew's classroom to make some playdough. There was a recipe that we had to follow. First we had to make sure we had all of the right ingredients - flour, salt, water, cream of tartar and colouring.

When we had all of the ingredients, we mixed them all in a big bowl and then cooked it. Mum and Milla came to school today and Milla helped to make the playdough too.

I never knew that making playdough was all about learning - we read the instructions and the names of the ingredients and we measured all of the ingredients.

Learning things is fun!

I Can FLY!

Today at circus, we all had a go on the 'tissue'. I don't know why it is called a 'tissue', it is more like a giant 'hanky'!

Anyway, the 'tissue' is a giant piece of fabric that is hanging from the ceiling by a rope, kind of like a hammock. I got to lay across the middle of the tissue and then mum and Sarah swung me around. It was so much fun, I thought that I was flying.

After I went on the 'tissue', I had a go at the Rola Bola. The Rola Bola is really like a piece of wood that you stand on. I would be really easy to do if there wasn't a big piece of pipe underneath the wood that made the wood all wobbly! Although it was really hard and wobbly, the Rola Bola was fun.

I wonder what new tricks I will learn at circus next week?

Big and Little Birthdays

We are a bit exhausted today. Can you believe that we went to a birthday party today, as well as another birthday party last night!

Last night it was Mick's (that is Samantha and Tom's dad) birthday party. Milla couldn't tell if Mick was having a big birthday or a little birthday as he had 2 cakes - a 4 year old cake and a zero year old cake. I had to tell her that he was even older than 4, that he was really 40! Milla can't even count to 40, so he must be really old! Anyway, there were millions of people at the party and we were allowed to stay up really late, like the grown ups.

Today's birthday party was a little more relaxing, it was at Queens Park. The party was for my cousin Henry. Even though he is still little, he is getting to be a big kid too. It was his first ever birthday party!Who do you think likes the present we gave to Henry, Henry or Grandma?

Kisses

What is Valentines Day? Lots of people have been talking about Valentines Day and cards and presents. I don't know anyone who got cards or presents today, except for Zoe's mum who got birthday presents.

I also heard that Valentines Day is about doing extra nice things for the people that you love. I always do lovely things for the people that I love, does that mean it is Valentines Day everyday? It is all so confusing!

All I know is that Ellen gave me a special Valentines Day kiss. Isn't my kiss huge!

Fairies Everywhere

Today I saw Polly Blossom the fairy again. She came to visit all of the fairies who were at Kalinda's 3rd birthday party. Polly Blossom told us stories, played games and sang songs. She even made marshmallows for us to eat using only cloud fluff and magic!

We had so much fun as fairies (and super heroes), that when we went home from the party, we decided to stay in our dress-ups and go for a drive. We drove all the way to Geelong to visit Adam, Melati and Charlee the dog. We also said 'Happy Birthday' to Uncle Adam.

It was such a busy day, with lots of cake to eat. I love birthday parties!

F & C's

Today is Friday, and that means it is F & C night. The grown-ups think that if they say F & C night we won't know what they are talking about, but I am a school kid so of course I know that F & C's means 'fish and chips'!

Normally F & C night involves Milli and I going to bed early so that mum and dad and some grown-up friends can all sit around and eat fish and chips, drink wine (or Bella) and watch movies.

Well not tonight, Milla and I wanted F & C's too, so mum made some chips for us and cooked some fish sticks and we went over to the park for a picnic to wait for dad to get home.

mmmmmm, delicious!

I love F & C night too,

Westside Circus

Today I went to circus school. I am in the Tic Tock team at Westside Circus. It was so much fun. We made different shapes with our bodies. I liked being a rocket and a super hero, as well as being a cat, rabbit and bear.

There were so many activities to do. We did handstands, balanced plates on our head, bounced on trampolines and did somersaults. I even went for a swing on the trapeze.

If I ever run away, I will definitely join the circus.

Domestic Bliss?

Mum is on holidays at the moment, to make sure that I settle into school, but I think she is getting a little bit bored (or crazy). When she dropped me at school this morning, she said that she had to go and be 'domestic' and tidy the house.

I thought mum's version of 'being domestic' meant that she would just hide all my favourite toys in cupboards so that I couldn't find them ever again. Instead, this new version of domestic involved taking all the bedding off and cleaning it. I know this is kind of normal, and I know mum does it regularly, but it doesn't normally involve washing my doona!

After my doona was washed, it took ages to dry. Just to make sure that it would be ready in time for bed, mum put it in the dryer. Let me tell you, that was a BIG oopsie. My doona is now a melted ball of fluff and fibre. It looks like another trip to Ikea is on the agenda soon, to get me a new doona.

Hot Days

It was a little bit hot in Melbourne again today. We didn't want to stay at home just because it was hot, so we decided to go into Docklands.

I love exploring Docklands. Today we watched the jellyfish under the pier, listened to a band play, had a picnic and went to the playground. We even saw a 'Cow in a Tree'.

As a special treat we had ice cream to cool us all down.

I love ice cream!

Carnivore

Do you know what a carnivore is? I do, it is something that eats meat. I love meat, I am a carnivore.

I helped mum to make our dinner tonight. We were having burritos. As mum was chopping up the onion I opened the packet of meat.

I told mum that I would make sure the meat was OK.

It was. I am not sure if I liked it better before or after it was cooked!
Love carnivorous Milla

PS - Dad thinks that my eating habits are disgusting, but mum used to eat raw steaks when she was little (it must be a girl thing)!
More 5 Year Olds

Today was Stella's birthday party. She turned 5 the day after AJ but she had her party today. We all went to Dizzy's Castle for a party and play.
When Dizzy came to visit, all the little kids screamed and ran away. I didn't. Even though I am just a little kid, I am as brave as the big kids.

Happy birthday Stella.

Daddy's New Toy

Look what happened when I started school!

Daddy's new toy arrived in the mail and was ready for us to use when I got home from school.

I wonder if daddy will get a new toy every day that I go to school?

I'm A Big Kid Now

I went to school today - for the whole day. I am in Prep/1L at Primary Kensington School. (OOPS, I mean Kensington Primary School!)

When I got to school, I went into the library to get my name tag. I had an orange name tag and that means that my teacher is Louise.

I took mum, dad and Milla with me when I went into the library and then upstairs to my classroom. Once I was in the classroom I was happy to explore all of the activities. I said goodbye to mum, dad and Milla without getting sad, even though I knew that I would miss them all.

Isabella is in the same class as me, and we played and worked together most of the time. We did drawing, cutting and pasting, playdough and we read books.

Going to school is fun
