Kinder Excursion

Mum finally helped out at kinder today.  All she really had to do is help us walk to school.  Yep, that's right, we went to Holy Rosary School to see what it is really like being a school kid.

It was great fun.  First we did some drawing, then did some dancing before going out to the adventure playground for some more fun.  When we were all worn out from playing we went back inside for more colouring and singing.

It was great fun at school, I can't wait until I get to go to school every day.

I'm a big kid now!

Goodbye

I can't believe that Yugi has been our big brother for 10 days.  Already it is time for him to go home.  Hopefully he will come back to Melbourne to study again some time soon.

Goodbye Yuji,

Eating Out

Well Yuji doesn't have much time left in Melbourne so we decided to go out for a special dinner.
We took him to our favourite restaurant - Abyssinian for a delicious African feast.

We shared some of our favourite dishes - Aletcha (carrot and cabbage), Goat Berbere, Dubbah (pumpkin), Tumtummo (AJ's favourite - lentils) and African styled spicy kangaroo!  It was all served on and eaten with injera.  We know it is delicious and Yuji thought it was delicious too.

Next time he is back in Melbourne, we will take Yuji out to eat other international meals, perhaps Turkish or Greek food.

Universal Games

As we were waiting for the train, we found a game that we could all play together.  It is a really fun game that you can play anywhere.  It has a few different names, in Japan it is called Junken, school kids here call it Sim Sim Sum and old people call it Rock Scissors Paper!

Whatever you call it, it is a great game!

No More Sheep

Sheep park has gone.  Well the park is still there, but the sheep has gone.  Instead of having sheep there is real play equipment instead.
The new equipment is fun, but kind of confusing.  On one side it is a house, but on the other side it is a fire truck.  We have renamed the park Muddled-Up Park.

I miss the sheep, but Muddled-Up park is fun!

Fairy in the Park

AJ and I had more birthday parties to go to today.  AJ's party was in Altona and mine was in Fairfield.  We dropped AJ to go to his party with a friend and then we went to Fairfield.  We got there early so we decided to have a play in Fairfield Park.

It was beautiful in the park, running along the banks of the river, climbing rocks and playing in the garden.  I was having so much fun that I could have stayed there all day but I did have a party to go to.
Luckily I went to the party, it was fantastic.  We climbed through a cupboard into fairy land to play games, have a picnic (I loved the blue lemonade) and go on a treasure hunt.

I love birthday parties.  It is only 3 more months until I get to have a real birthday party!

Miso

Yugi wanted to try all things typically Australian, kicking a footy, barbeque sausages in bread, shopping at the Vic Market and even eating Vegemite on toast.

He actually liked the Vegemite on toast, he thinks it tastes like miso!

Goal

We all went to the footy tonight.  Most people would think that that was pretty normal, but we went to the St Kilda and Hawthorn match and nobody in our family likes those teams!  Our family footy teams are Essendon, Bulldogs, Collingwood and the Kangaroos.

Do you know why we went to see such a strange match?
It was because my mum and some of her friends were umpiring one of the half time Auskick matches.  How cool is that!  I hope that my mum can umpire when I get to play Auskick at Telstra Dome.

New Visitor

We have someone new staying at our house for a while.  His name is Yuji and he is going to be our big brother too.  Yuji lives in Japan but has come to Melbourne for a little while to practice his English.  It is a good thing that Milli and I are great English teachers!

Yuji is a great soccer teacher.

I think we will have fun teaching and learning together.

Chilling Out

Well it is the last day of the holidays.  What better way to celebrate than to chill out with friends.  We went to little William's house for brunch.  Of course William, Matt and Liss were there, but Jodi and Ellen came along too.

Naturally we didn't stay for only brunch, we went to the park together too.  We had a great time riding around, climbing trees and swinging.
Before we knew it, the sun was about to set.  By the time we rode back to little William's house, we were all tired and hungry, so we stayed for dinner too!

It was a great day, it is a shame that the holidays are over.  Hopefully we will get to play with little William again some time soon (and not have to wait until next year!)

On Holidays

We are still on holidays in Yarrawonga with nan and pop.  Poor mum and dad have to go to work everyday.

Look at the conditions mum had to work in today!

We hope that it won't be that cold when we get home tomorrow,

Stuck

I went for a walk IN the lake today.

I tried to walk all the way to the island.

I got stuck in the mud half way.

I went searching for hidden treasure.

Look, I found my shoe!

Playing in the lake is fun, and messy!

In the Lake

Playing in the lake is always a highlight of a holiday with Nan and Pop.  It is even more fun now that we can play in the lake during winter!  Don't worry, we won't get too cold - there isn't any water where we would normally play.

I can even play on the jetty now, nan doesn't freak out that I will fall in the water and drown.  Of course she still worries that I will fall and hurt myself!

Luckily there were no major dramas as we explored the lake and island, but there is still plenty of time left!

Bright Stars

Every day this week, AJ and I have been going to a drama class called Bright Stars.  We get to sing and dance and act all morning long.  Our teacher Ellie is great, she has been teaching us all about songs from some of our favourite Disney movies.

Today, at the end of our class we did a mini performance for the parents.  First we sang and danced to a song from jungle book, then did a puppet show about our favourite Disney characters, then we acted out our Disney version of the Three Billy Goats Gruff (I was the Little Billy Goat and AJ was a Troll).  We finished our performance with a song from High School Musical - We're All in This Together before all taking a bow.

I love Bright Stars, I can't wait until our classes start again, but now it is time to drive to Yarrawonga for a holiday.

Birthday Cake

It is nearly dad's birthday, but because we can't have a party for dad on Saturday, we decided to have a party today.

We went out for a special lunch, spent all afternoon together (building dad's birthday lego) and then we had a birthday dinner.  Of course you can't have a birthday dinner without chocolate cake, so we had cake and ice-cream too.

Happy birthday Dad,
Love AJ and Milla (and mum too)
