A Day in the Country

We went for a long drive to the country today to go to Archie's first birthday.  We had a great time, with lots of party food and toys to play with.

AJ got to eat the best part of Archie's birthday cake.

Of course, the best part of the birthday party was exploring in the fresh country air.

When I got to the bottom of the hill, dad was yelling something at me.  I didn't know what he was saying, I was too busy ducking out of the way from the magpie that flying past my head.

I guess my hair did look pretty good, it is no wonder the magpie did want to get a better look up close.

Spooky

It is almost Isabella's 7th birthday and today we went to her spooky birthday party.  Who do you think I went to the party as?

Harry Potter of course!

Milla was a witch who ate too much black icing - gross!

Happy birthday Bella,

Changes

Well by now, everyone knows that we are changing our house around and things are kind of crazy.  We have been sleeping in the blue room (soon to be AJ's room) for a while because our room was filled with insulation fluff, sawdust and plaster.

Last night we decided to sleep at Sharn's house for a little holiday.  When we got home, I was hoping that some of the house would be back to normal, instead it is even more crazy.
My bike is inside, and the barbeque and all sorts of other things are in strange places.  I can't even sit at the table because there is so much stuff around it.  Perhaps now I will get to eat dinner on the couch.

We went out to birthday parties all afternoon and when we got back, the backyard had changed too!
Now it looks like we have a crazy beach or sandpit in a timber yard instead of a backyard!

I wonder what else will change when I am not looking.

In the Cupboard

Well apparently no wild animals are coming to live in our bedroom.  It isn't even going to be our bedroom for much longer.  Soon mum and dad will move back upstairs and they will kick us out.  We will have to go back and live on the middle floor - IN OUR OWN BEDROOMS!  Can you believe that!

The place that we thought was a cage for a wild animal is really mum and dad's new cupboard.
Look how big it is, I mean how many clothes do they think they own!  The cupboard is so big that I think that I could live there!

As well as having a gigantic cupboard in the room, mum and dad have also got their own study in their bedroom.  Does that mean that we get to keep the study in the middle floor all for the kids.

Walls

Oh no, now we can't run round and round and round the house.  Look there is a wall blocking the way!
I will have to find a new way to escape when AJ is chasing me!

The Cage

Look what we found when we got home from school today!
There is a cage in our bedroom.  I wonder who will get to live in the cage?  Will it be me, AJ or a wild creature?  Who knows, I can't wait to find out.

Making a Mess

Well earlyish in the morning a builder is coming to our house to build some new walls.  Before he can start, we had to move some stuff out of the way in our bedroom.

Instead of our room looking like this,

now it looks like this!

I wonder what it will look like next week?

Worms

Well first I had to get my own breakfast, then after I packed my bags I made my own morning tea and now I have had to make my own snack.

Luckily I love Vegemite Worms!

Mum did cook brunch for us and dad made lunch.  I wonder what we will have for dinner?

A Busy Morning

Well it is only 9 o'clock this beautiful Sunday morning and already Milli and I have been very busy.  We got up and had breakfast and then finished our pictures for nan and pop.  When they were done it was just after 8 o'clock so we decided to go and show mum and dad.

Even though our pictures were fantastic mum and dad weren't really interested in us telling them all about how we finished them.  They really weren't interested in us jumping on the bed or making loud noises either and mum told us to go away!  We did - we went out and began packing.
First we packed the games we might need.  We started off with just our favourite games - Mousetrap and Candyland, but then we remembered how good the other games were, so we packed them too.  Before we knew it, we had 7 bags of games to take with us.  We could barely carry all the bags of games so we had no room to take clothes.  We would have to pack a snack bag though.
We are busy packing and mum is busy looking for her camera (or iphone)!

We weren't too sure where we were going.  First I suggested Western Australia, but Milla wanted to go to South Australia.  Then we decided on going north to where the trains are as long as 5 MCG's (I know they are long because I am studying transport at school) and maybe we could go to Bindi's Zoo.  We were going to catch a taxi ad use the money we found on the floor to pay for it.

Mum and dad wanted to know how long we would be gone for and we told them 10 days.  Then they started asking about what would happen if we missed drama class or dancing or even Auskick.  Then I remembered it was Isabella's party next weekend and I couldn't possibly miss another birthday party.  Sorry I forgot to go to your party yesterday Michael :(

So after all our hard work packing our games, we decided that we should probably wait until the holidays before we run away.  We did have some snacks ready to eat for morning tea.

Sad Days

Yesterday was a very sad day.  It was a sad day because nanny and poppy's dog went to sleep and didn't wake up.

Last time that we were on holidays in Yarrawonga we said a big forever goodbye to BJ because he was very old and we knew he might die soon.  Even though we have said goodbye it still makes us sad to think that we can't have any more smelly dog cuddles.

We know that nanny and poppy will be very sad too and we don't want them to forget BJ so we drew some pictures to help them remember.

Walking in the Rain

It rained this morning.  Normally I don't mind when it rains because rain is really good and I don't want it to go away, I just wish it didn't rain this morning.  We had another kinder excursion today and we all had to walk there.  Luckily the walk to my brothers  school was pretty quick, but when we got to school we all looked like we had been swimming in our clothes!

Luckily it was nice and warm in the school.  I was in AJ's classroom, but AJ wasn't there - all the Grade One's had to go to sport instead.

I had great fun building a gigantic tower that even the Grade One boys would have liked.

Then I drew a picture of my day at school.

I had great time at school.  I can't wait to go there next year when I am 5 and a 1/4.

Dance

As well as riding on miniature trains and going out for lunch, I went to dancing twice today.  The first time was to do my jazz dancing assessment and then later on we both did our tap dancing assessment.

Naturally we were really all superstars.  I am sure the judges thought we were amazing, but I won't find out for sure until next week.
No matter what, I had heaps of fun, especially when I had an extra day to play with my dancing friends.

All Aboard, Again

Apparently if I clean my bedroom AND ask really, really nice, I get to do almost anything I want to.  Today I convinced everyone that we needed to go back to the Altona Miniature Railway.

I went on the whole track, twice.  First I had a ride on Rusty, the old diesel (that runs on petrol) and the train that looks like a normal diesel but really runs on petrol too.  Next time I go to the miniature railway I will have a ride on the steam train that runs on steam!
I like spotting trains,

Student Free

What do you do on a cold, wet and windy day when you don't have to go to school?  Why you go to the zoo of course.

First stop was the frogs and then the reptiles, but only because they were on the way to see my favourite animals, the wombats.  We had lunch with the other Australian animals just before the rain hit.  It kept raining so we went to visit the butterfly house to let the mum's warm up.
The butterflies didn't seem to like little kids, but they did like me, see!

It was a great day at the zoo.  I am sure that half of the kids from my school were there too.  I would have stayed longer, but all the mum's were getting cold.  We weren't cold we had races to run and trees to climb.

I love student free days.

The End of the Rainbow

Tonight after school, we went to the land at the end of the rainbow.  Milla was looking for a pot of gold or a trip to fairy land, but what we found was even better - it was Windy Hill, the home of the Bombers.

We watched the Bombers do some training and then we did some of our own Auskick training but best of all we went to the Bombers Hall of Fame.

Do you think that I would be a great Bomber?

All Aboard

At school we are learning about all about different types of transport.  Today our class went on an excursion to Altona Miniature Railway to learn more about trains.

We looked at the different engines and what makes them work.  Normally the trains that I ride on to the city are electric, but the trains here run on petrol just like our car!  They even have a few trains that have steam engines but they weren't running today.
We all went for rides on the miniature trains too.  It was fantastic.

Now if only I can convince mum and dad to take me back to Altona on Sunday and I can ride the whole track!

Making Toys

AJ and I are making our own toys.  It isn't because we don't have enough toys (because mum says we already have 'far too many'), it is because we want to learn a new craft and sewing looks like fun.
I am making a crazy dog.  It came in a box with everything I would need, even a kid sewing needle.  I tried to sew the button eyes on the dog and then needle got stuck.  When mum tried to get it out she snapped the needle.  Now I have to finish the dog with a really sharp pointy grown up needle.

I hope I don't prick my fingers too many times.

Watermelon Olympics
This morning we had a special Olympic breakfast as we watched the replay of the Olympic opening ceremony.  We talked about all the different events that we would get to watch on TV and choose what events liked best.

I think that if there was a fruit eating Olympic event I would win it.

What would you win at the Olympics?

Playing with Food

Well we have been too busy to actually cook our own dinner lately.  We were so busy tonight that we had leftovers for dinner.  I love it when we have leftovers, we are allowed to play with our food.
I made a person with some of my vegies.

AJ made a castle with trees around it.

Do you like leftovers too?

Graffiti

Lately someone, or lots of different people, have been drawing pictures all around Kensington.  Now normally I like pictures but these ones aren't very interesting.  They are mainly just scribbles and writing and they aren't even done neatly.  I am only 4 and I can write and draw better than all this mess.  Apparently what they have been drawing is called 'tagging'.  I don't care what it is called, it looks horrible.

This is some of the writing on the statue in the middle of circle park.  I don't know what it says, but I think that it might be rude words about AJ.

I wish people would stop being nasty and I hope they stop tagging in my park.

Sunday Morning

What do you do of a Sunday morning?  Often we stay in our pyjamas ALL morning and eat breakfast at least 6 times, but not today.  Today we decided to go to the zoo.

Now we do go to the zoo quite a lot, but so does most of Melbourne so I it is often really busy.  This morning the zoo was all ours.  Even though it was a beautiful sunny day we seemed to be the only people at the zoo.  Luckily the animals were all still there and they were really happy to see us, especially the Australian animals.

The kangaroos came up and said hello.
(One even gave Milla's teddy a kiss!)

The emu strolled by.

Milla showed me a lizard peeking out from under the rocks.

Even the wombat came out for a play.

How did you enjoy your Sunday?
