Princess Paula

A couple of weeks ago, whenever I wanted to know where mum was, she was always working. I thought it was kind of strange that she was working so late at night; normally she works during the day when I go to Tia's house. I didn't know that she was over at Paula's house making her a barbie doll dress.

Paula is one of my friends who lives just down the road. She has a funny voice, just like all the people we met when we were in America. Anyway, she went in the Miss Gay Universe Pagent in Sydney and mum made her a gown to wear in the pagent.

Naturally Paula looked like a princess wearing the gown, and she won the entire competition. Pretty amazing! Now I can tell people that I am friends with Miss Gay Universe!

As well as being a beauty queen, Paula also impersonates Cher and other singers. She is so famous that she has a stage name been. She has been on TV heaps, she even has her own web site too! Check out Paula's (Candi Stratton's) web site at www.candistratton.com

My Cousin Henry

I finally got to meet little Henry George McConville today. He was pretty darn cute. I think being cute is a prerequisite for a kid with George for a middle name. He has teeny-tiny fingers and teeny-tiny toes, and for a McConville, he even had a teeny-tiny nose!

Henry is lots of fun to play with, he is just like a doll that can make noise, drink and go to the toilet - kind of like the doll that I got for Christmas.

He is fun to cuddle and play with, but I am sure that when he is bigger, we can have heaps more fun together.

I love my only first cousin,

Hello Henry

This is our first ever first cousin. He looks like he is pretty cute, we just haven't had a chance to meet him yet. Mum and dad have both been crook and they don't want Henry to get yucky germs yet. Hopefully they will be better soon, and we can go and meet him.

And in News Just In...

Guess what everyone, we are cousins!

Aunty Mel and Uncle Grant are finally parents. Not so little Henry George McConville was born at 7.40pm tonight at St Vincent Private Hospital. He weighed in at 9 pounds 8 and the whole family is doing really well.

We can't wait to meet our first cousin!

Yukata Kids

This is Milli dancing to the Japanese music

Today we went to the Osaka Festival in at the Treasury Gardens. It was heaps of fun, there were lots of people there in tradidtional Japanese kimonos, doing obi folding demonstrations, calligraphy, karaoke and even pretend sword fights like the samurai. It was really exciting.

My favourite part of the festival was the yukata competition. All of the cute kids in summer cotton kimonos (yukata) went up on to the stage to show everyone there outfits and the judges decide who is the cutest.

When I was on stage, the host saw that I was wearing an Anpanman obi. He asked me if I liked Anpanman, I said I did - everyone likes 'Bread-Head Man'. He asked me if I liked the other characters from Anpanman, so naturally I said yes. I think he thought that all I could say was 'yes', so he asked if I liked him. I said no, everyone laughed! Maybe that is why I didn't win the competition...? Milli didn't win either, she took one look at the judges and cried!

Oh well, there is always next year. Hopefully I will be able to speak more Japanese by then, and really impress the judges.
Ja ne (see you later)

Sport at Scienceworks

Today we went to Scienceworks with mum, Amelia, Zac and Paula. Zac slept most of the time and mum and Paula didn't do much either. That was OK, we used up enough energy for everyone.

We raced against Kathy Freeman,

went canoeing along the Yarra River,

had wheelchair races,

and then when we were all worn out from all of our exercising,

we relaxed in the park.

Scienceworks is fun,

My Favourite Game - Frustrating Mama

I can't sleep, so I thought that I would tell you about my favourite game, it is called 'Frustrating Mama'.
Yesterday we went into Fitzroy Gardens to learn how to do swing dancing and to listen to a band. I had heaps of fun watching all the big people dance, as well as dancing with Macs and Sarah.

The game really started when I asked mama to take me for a walk to the toilet. Off we went - mama, me, my hat and my toy gerbil. I don't know if you know the Fitzroy Gardens but they are exciting and I am easily sidetracked. I convinced mama that I didn't really need to go to the toilet and that we should go exploring for a while instead.

First I wanted to stop and look at every house in the Model Tudor Village (twice), then try and count all the fairies on the fairy tree. Ages later, when mama said it was time to go back and find dad and AJ, I decided that I still needed to go to the toilets.

After walking to the toilets, almost on the other side of the park, we had to line up for ages. Eventually we made it to the front of the queue, it was our turn. In we go - mama, me and my gerbil. I really don't know why mama was getting annoyed when I explained that I didn't want to go to the toilet...but my gerbil did. So I sat my gerbil on the toilet to do a tinkle.

I don't know why mama wouldn't let me wash my gerbils hands though, doesn't she know that everyone washes their hands after they go to the toilet?
Isn't this a great game?

Tap...Tap...Tap...

Tap dancing is lots of fun. There is so much to learn about tap dancing, but soooooo much noise to make. I had heaps of fun, even if it was a bit overwhelming when all of the other kids made heaps of noise with their tap shoes and I only had normal shoes to wear. Hopefully by next class I will have some noisy tap shoes to wear too!
I will have to practice lots to be as good as the big kids in my class or my teacher Helen. This is a photo of me practicing my 'spring' steps on the way back to the car. Only one class and I look like a real tap dancer already (even if I don't have real tap shoes).

Break a Leg?

Mum just told me to "break a leg". I thought, "How rude!" That was until she explained to me that you can tell someone to break a leg and it doesn't really mean that you want them to break a leg, it is really to wish them good luck for when they are dancing or performing.

I guess that it is OK for mum to wish me luck for my first ever tap dancing class!

Well, break a leg to me, it is nearly time for dancing. I can't wait to tell everyone all about it.

A Real Princess!

I saw a real princess yesterday, her name is Amanda and she married my mum's cousin Frankie.
They got married next to the creek in Tungamah. It was really beautiful.
When mum and dad went to the party after the wedding, AJ and I went back to Peter Pop and Pitter Pat's house in Yarrawonga to play with Marg and Graham. We had lots of fun playing together, but I can't wait until I am big enough to stay at the wedding party too!
Luckily today, we are all going back to the park at Tungamah for a 'recovery' barbeque. Lots of people will be at the 'recovery', even little cousins that we can play with. It should be lots of fun.

Maybe when I am bigger, I can be a real princess and wear a beautiful dress like Amanda.

Music is fun!

I went to my very first music class yesterday. It was so much fun. My friend Macsen came to the class with me, and Kalinda was there too. We sang lots of songs, even one about 'Bananas in Pyjamas' and did some dancing too. When it was time to play with the instruments, Kalinda and I used the maracas, but Macs played the cymbals. He was really good at smashing them together to make music.

When the class finished, we had a play outside until we were really tired. Then we had to go to the Gravy Train Cafe for baby-cino to get some more energy to play.
I can't wait until my next music class next week.

Zachary James Bryant

I met Amelia's little brother Zachary yesterday. He was very little, but I guess that was OK, he was only 2 days old! He was really cute, but too little to play with us.

He was born on Tuesday the 31st of January, the day after AJ's birthday. Even though he is really little, he weighs 3.2kg.

I would love to write more about meeting little Zac, but I have to go to my first ever music class.

See you all later,
Princess George

Blah, blah, blah, PARTY...
Blah, blah, blah, BIRTHDAY...
Blah, blah, blah, KINDER...

Anyone would think that this blog is the story of
Alexander Jay Perconville!
Do I sound like a typical little sister, a cute little kid who wants some more attention? Does anyone really care that I have my first ever music class tomorrow or that my friend Amelia is a big sister?

I know that it is a really exciting time for AJ, but having some time at home without AJ is pretty exciting for me too; I can play with my toys or go and visit my friends. It is nice to do all of the things that I love without a big brother to boss me around!
Don't tell AJ, but I kind of miss him when he is at kinder. I wish that I could go to kinder and play with all the big kids and do big kid projects. Only 2 more years until I can go to kinder too!

Please don't forget me!
