Kinder Excursion

Mum finally helped out at kinder today.  All she really had to do is help us walk to school.  Yep, that's right, we went to Holy Rosary School to see what it is really like being a school kid.

It was great fun.  First we did some drawing, then did some dancing before going out to the adventure playground for some more fun.  When we were all worn out from playing we went back inside for more colouring and singing.

It was great fun at school, I can't wait until I get to go to school every day.

I'm a big kid now!

Goodbye

I can't believe that Yugi has been our big brother for 10 days.  Already it is time for him to go home.  Hopefully he will come back to Melbourne to study again some time soon.

Goodbye Yuji,

Eating Out

Well Yuji doesn't have much time left in Melbourne so we decided to go out for a special dinner.
We took him to our favourite restaurant - Abyssinian for a delicious African feast.

We shared some of our favourite dishes - Aletcha (carrot and cabbage), Goat Berbere, Dubbah (pumpkin), Tumtummo (AJ's favourite - lentils) and African styled spicy kangaroo!  It was all served on and eaten with injera.  We know it is delicious and Yuji thought it was delicious too.

Next time he is back in Melbourne, we will take Yuji out to eat other international meals, perhaps Turkish or Greek food.

Universal Games

As we were waiting for the train, we found a game that we could all play together.  It is a really fun game that you can play anywhere.  It has a few different names, in Japan it is called Junken, school kids here call it Sim Sim Sum and old people call it Rock Scissors Paper!

Whatever you call it, it is a great game!

No More Sheep

Sheep park has gone.  Well the park is still there, but the sheep has gone.  Instead of having sheep there is real play equipment instead.
The new equipment is fun, but kind of confusing.  On one side it is a house, but on the other side it is a fire truck.  We have renamed the park Muddled-Up Park.

I miss the sheep, but Muddled-Up park is fun!

Fairy in the Park

AJ and I had more birthday parties to go to today.  AJ's party was in Altona and mine was in Fairfield.  We dropped AJ to go to his party with a friend and then we went to Fairfield.  We got there early so we decided to have a play in Fairfield Park.

It was beautiful in the park, running along the banks of the river, climbing rocks and playing in the garden.  I was having so much fun that I could have stayed there all day but I did have a party to go to.
Luckily I went to the party, it was fantastic.  We climbed through a cupboard into fairy land to play games, have a picnic (I loved the blue lemonade) and go on a treasure hunt.

I love birthday parties.  It is only 3 more months until I get to have a real birthday party!

Miso

Yugi wanted to try all things typically Australian, kicking a footy, barbeque sausages in bread, shopping at the Vic Market and even eating Vegemite on toast.

He actually liked the Vegemite on toast, he thinks it tastes like miso!
