Dralion Circus Stars

We had a special family outing today, we all went to the circus.  Not just any old circus but Cirque du Soleil.

Wow, it was the best circus ever.  There were clowns, acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, hoop divers, trampolinists, wonderful musicians and singers and the most amazing dancers I have ever seen, especially the dancers that didn't even dance on the ground.

They were all so wonderful that it has made me want to go back to circus classes.  Maybe if I practice my circus tricks and my dancing I could be in Dralion too.

It was an amazing show, you really should try to see it too.

Taking a Break

Well I have been a circus star for over a year now, but it is time to say goodbye.  My class time (and Milla's too) has now been changed until Saturday afternoon.  That would mean that we couldn't go away for little holidays or go to other fun places without missing lots of classes, so we have decided to take a break for a while.
This was at me at the end of the mini-performance today.

I think I will miss doing all the amazing circus stunts and wearing lots of cool costumes.  I think I will start a new activity soon to keep me busy, I wonder what it will be?

Crazy Hair
The circus themes this term are fantastic.
Today it was crazy hair day.

Now that I have long hair, I can't do jelly hair (short and spiky), so I insisted on having nanny hair (that means parted to the side, slicked down and tucked behind my ears) with some spiky bits at the back.  I didn't want any piggie tails - they are for girls.

I was really happy with the finished product!

Milla wanted braids and twists but couldn't decide if she wanted to be a unicorn or a poodle!

All together, I think we make a crazy hair family!

Do you think mum should give up her day job and become a hairdresser?

All Grown Up
Today I am the dad and Milli is the mum.  It is role reversal day at circus, so the kids look like grown-ups and the grown-ups look like kids.

The craziest part is that if dad is the kid, then he has to do the circus class and I get to sit on the couch and pretend to watch as I read the paper!

This should be fun,

Tales of a Watertight World

Well everyone knows that living in a drought is hard work. Our circus cabaret was all about living in a place with no water.

In the cabaret, there was an explorer in the jungle who got very, very lost and ended up in the desert. He was so dehydrated that he imagined that waiters were wandering around with glasses of water for him. Milla was a waiter and she balanced a cup of water on her head so that the explorer couldn't get it.

AJ was a part of the tribe that found the explorer. The explorer taught the tribe how to use water to clean themselves. We think the tribe was more intelligent than the explorer - who needs to be clean, you will only get dirty again. Water is much better for drinking or swimming in.

Anyway, the performance was heaps of fun and everyone cheered really, really loudly so it must have been good. We were such good performers that we were all given tickets to the second part of the Watertight World story at the circus next weekend.

Hooray, we love the circus!

PS - if Poppy emails us some photos from the show, we will post them here.

A Crazy Day
Today certainly was a crazy day.

First we took AJ to school, then we had to go to circus for a photo shoot to promote the show. We went straight from circus to dancing for our final class before the concert tomorrow. From dancing we went to school to collect AJ's bag. We couldn't collect AJ because he was at the swimming pool having a swimming lesson, so it was off to the swimming pool next.

After we got AJ, it was home for lunch and then off to Tia and Tio's for the Christmas Party. The crazy elf and Santa both visited the party and we had heaps of fun.

When we left the party, went home to get the rest of our dancing gear and headed off to rehearsals.

Finally when our part of the rehearsal was over, Lucy picked us up and took us home. Mum is still at rehearsal, making sure that everyone else is safe. If I wasn't so tired I would write more about our crazy day, but for now - Good Night!

PS - perhaps when mum gets home she will post photos of the crazy day for me!

Climbing High

Well I have only had my plaster off for a few days and there is no stopping me.
I had my first class back at circus and I was strong enough to climb way up high on the rope!

Luckily I am back, rehearsals for the end of year circus cabaret are about to begin.

Spring Flowers

It was spring day at circus today. I decided that I would go dressed as my favourite plant - Bouganvillea.
We all went for an early morning walk across the park to pick some bouganvillea and AJ helped to put it in my hair.

Don't I look beautiful?

I'm a Star!

Today is National Youth Circus Day. Macs and I went to Circus school today to celebrate. As usual, it was heaps of fun.

The best part of National Youth Circus Day was that we were a part of a special performance. There were lots of other performers; the Westside professional troupe (with Sasha my teacher, Jen my old teacher and AJ's teacher), performers from Circus Oz and even a troupe of big kid performers that were amazing.

There were tv cameras everywhere and we were on the news to show the whole world just how amazing circus school really is. I can't post the clip from the news on my blog, but if you CLICK HERE you will get to see the footage that is on the ABC website.

I hope that you can all run away and join the circus one day too.

Bungee

It was cold and wet today, so we had to use our imagination to pretend that we were playing outside and having fun. At circus, I pretended that I was a beach kid, playing on the beach. Mum was a footy chick, so it didn't really matter that it was raining.

As a part of the outdoor fun day at circus, we did bungee tricks and pretended that we were outside. I sat on a bungee swing while mum and Jen bounced me up into the clouds. It was so much fun. I bounced so high, that I was flying through the clouds.

I loved the bungee ( I think that mum did too).

Watch the Telly

I give everyone permission to watch TV tonight. It is a special occasion - I am going to be on TV!

Make sure that you all watch Stateline on the ABC at 7.30 tonight to see me at circus, and then let me know if you think I have a future on TV and in the movies.

Titan Tracker

It was robot day at circus today. I was the coolest robot there, I went as a Lego Titan Tracker.

During all of the exercises we pretended to be robots.

It was really hard to be a robot when you are standing on top of a giant ball!

Hmmm, I seem to be having trouble uploading the video, but eventually I will post it here!

Back to Normal

I had a great holiday, but I really missed doing all of the things that I normally do. I love dancing and circus school is so much fun.

My favourite thing to do is swing on the trapeze.

Fly Away

Today at circus, I practiced flying on the Tissu with mum and Macsie. It was heaps of fun. I hope that our flight to Auckland is as much fun as flying at circus!

Fall on your Face?

Finally, after months of waiting, it was my turn to join the circus. I had my first circus class today. I went on the trapeze, did somersaults, hula hoops, mini trampolining and even climbed a tricky rope ladder.

I loved climbing the huge rope ladder. I climbed so high I could almost touch the roof.

When I climbed down from the ladder, I saw this message written on the wall. Luckily I didn't fall on my face!

I Can FLY!

Today at circus, we all had a go on the 'tissue'. I don't know why it is called a 'tissue', it is more like a giant 'hanky'!

Anyway, the 'tissue' is a giant piece of fabric that is hanging from the ceiling by a rope, kind of like a hammock. I got to lay across the middle of the tissue and then mum and Sarah swung me around. It was so much fun, I thought that I was flying.

After I went on the 'tissue', I had a go at the Rola Bola. The Rola Bola is really like a piece of wood that you stand on. I would be really easy to do if there wasn't a big piece of pipe underneath the wood that made the wood all wobbly! Although it was really hard and wobbly, the Rola Bola was fun.

I wonder what new tricks I will learn at circus next week?

PS - If you want to learn more about the tricks I learn at kinder you can check out the descriptions in wikipedia - Tissue and Rola Bola

Westside Circus

Today I went to circus school. I am in the Tic Tock team at Westside Circus. It was so much fun. We made different shapes with our bodies. I liked being a rocket and a super hero, as well as being a cat, rabbit and bear.

There were so many activities to do. We did handstands, balanced plates on our head, bounced on trampolines and did somersaults. I even went for a swing on the trapeze.

If I ever run away, I will definitely join the circus.
