Time to tidy

I got a surprise when I got home from school today - mum had cleaned my bedroom.  Now having a clean bedroom is awesome but when mum cleans it for me it means that all the things I had shoved out of the way to pretend my room was clean get dragged out and put into a pile for me to tidy up.  I know that if I forget to put them away 'properly'.  I could just leave it for mum to do, but when mum says put them away 'properly' she really means she will either throw it away or give my stuff to someone else!
The Clean Bits...
and the not so clean bits!

Luckily AJ is facing the same dilemma , a clean room... And a giant pile of stuff to sort through!

AJ's kinda clean bits...
and his pile to sort!
Oh well, enough of the complaining, I've got some serious sorting to do.

A Smashing Good Time

When Adam and Melati were on their way home from Christmas celebrations at Nan and Pop's house, Melati remembered that we hadn't smashed the Gingerbread House that she had made for us.  We would have smashed it then but we were all so full that we just couldn't eat another thing so she made us promise that we would smash it on Boxing Day.

If mum were quicker she might of managed to get a before photo!  Oh well, here is the destruction in progress.

I'm still not very hungry, but that's OK, Billy will eat all of the gingerbread and the decorations.

Time for Jack-o-lanterns

Now that the wedding is over and we are all recovered from the fun and excitement, we have another big project to get organised - Halloween.  Now as Aussies, we really don't know how to celebrate Halloween, sure we try really hard by making creepy Jack-o-lanterns, baking witchy fingers and dressing up in costumes but that is it.  You can imagine how super excited we are about celebrating Halloween properly.

Finally it was time to make the Jack-o-lanterns.  I have to say that American pumpkins are ginormous and I am pretty sure that they weigh more than I do!

We started off by drawing our faces on the pumpkins, well not 'our' faces, the faces that we thought would look best on a pumpkin!  Once the faces were drawn it was time to get into action and make the Jack-o-lanterns.

Tony was the pumpkin carving expert and cut them out for us.  We helped with the finer details but let him do the hard work.  We did the messy work and scooped the guts out of the pumpkin.

Victoria must know us well already and figured that we would be hungry before we finished so she decided to sort through all the pumpkin goop and collect the seeds to roast for us to nibble on as we worked.

There was soooo much goop in the pumpkins that it took forever to sort through it all to get the seeds to roast.

Eventually the pumpkins were carved and ready to carry out to the front of the house to join all of the Halloween decorations that were there.

Only one more sleep until Halloween, hurrah!  I can't wait...

Cinderella

I think that when I grow up I will be Cinderella because I like cleaning things.

If I can't be Cinderella, I think I will be famous instead.

Spring Clean

Spring is here and it is time to Spring clean, but we can't yet, there is too much mess.  Now there is a giant mess inside the house AND outside too!

This is in the corner of our bedroom, it used to be where our beds were but eventually it will be mum and dad's study area.

Outside the backyard is a gigantic clay-pit.  There are a few holes in the yard ready for the deck stumps to go in, but now it is just a place for us to play and make more mess.

Renovating is messy!

Making a Mess

Well earlyish in the morning a builder is coming to our house to build some new walls.  Before he can start, we had to move some stuff out of the way in our bedroom.

Instead of our room looking like this,

now it looks like this!

I wonder what it will look like next week?

What a Pretty Mess

When we tried to sneak downstairs to watch cartoons this morning, but mum heard us.  She told us to make sure we wore slippers so we wouldn't cut our feet.  I didn't know what she was talking about, until I went to make my breakfast.
The whole glass wall behind the stove was shattered into a gazillion pieces!

Apparently it shattered during the night, and the noise woke dad.  It looks really pretty, but bits of glass keep falling off the wall.

I wonder how long it will take to fix it?

The Explorers

Today, when Macsie came to visit, we decided to do some more exploring. Although it was finally a lovely sunny day, we didn't want to do outside exploring. Today was 'inside exploring day'.

There were so many places to explore upstairs...

We explored the beds - to discover how they were put together.

We explored the toys and blankets - to see how many we could tip into the middle of the room.

We even explored the bathroom - just for fun!

Today was a day to learn about everything in our room. It was very educational, it is amazing what you can learn in only an hour!

Fast Food

Yesterday, Milla and I made our own snacks. Although it was the middle of the afternoon, we wanted to have some more breakfast. Milla had her rice bubbles and cornflakes with apple and blackcurrant juice.

It looked delicious, so I decided to have rice bubbles and cornflakes with apple and blackcurrant juice too. I really wanted to have fast food, so I ate my cereal from my frisbee!
