At the River

No trip to Nanny and Poppy's house is complete without a trip to the lake. Now this is what the lake normally looks like...
but look at it now!

The lake is dry so we could walk all the way to the river, it was awesome. I love playing at the lake.

Playing With Dolls

Now everyone who knows my mum that she loves her Barbie dolls so you can imagine just how surprised I was when I asked if I could play with her Barbie dolls she said yes. We were in Yarrawonga at Nanny and Poppy's house for the weekend and mum has billions of dolls in her bedroom there and she went and got me a few dolls to play with. She handed them over and then she went back and got some more dolls for me to play with, then more and more.

Next thing I knew I was surrounded by Barbie dolls everywhere. I was so excited, it was like I was in a toy shop, then mum told me that I was allowed to play with the dolls - but I wasn't allowed to take them out of the boxes! Can you believe that? Play with the dolls but not take them out of the boxes. I thought that I was going to be tortured by the thought of so much fun that I couldn't have, then I thought of a way to 'play' with the dolls.
Look mum - playing with Barbie dolls, even if they are still in their boxes, is great fun!

To Market to Market

I love going to the Flemington Market; I can hang out with friends, eat yummy food, find great things to buy but best of all I can play at the pond on the way home.

There are rock bridges to build.

Relaxing to be done.

And of course, swans to be fed.

I love walking to the market.

Football Stars?

For the last few months mum and AJ have been dragging me along to Auskick. I really don't like football, but mum and AJ seem to like it. Luckily I am happy to go along and visit my friends there. This week at Auskick we found out that if our parents wanted to take us in to Etihad Stadium we could play in the half time Auskick games out on the ground. Naturally AJ thought it was the coolest thing ever. I didn't really want to go but decided that since the Bombers were going to play the Bulldogs it might be fun.

Well can you believe it, mum somehow convinced me to take my footy boots into the stadium, just in case there weren't enough players. Humph - they were a player short and I was convinced to play, providing I didn't have to do anything except for go out on to the field, I didn't actually want to have to play football.

Even though I wasn't 'playing' football, it was still exciting being down in the dressing rooms listening to the roar of the crowd up in the stands watching the real game. By the time we walked around to the other side of the ground and lined up in the race ready to go out onto the field I was feeling a bit nervous.
I played on the red team with my Auskick friends and AJ played on the black team with his friend Tiger.

Finally it was half time in the game and it was time for us to run out onto the field to play our game. AJ was great, he got a kick right after the game started and even kicked a point.
AJ had just kicked a point in this photo, that is him on the right.

Our team wasn't very good, but we were all having fun running around on the ground. All of a sudden our team got a free kick and the umpire tried to get me to take the kick.
I really didn't like the thought of taking a free kick and I got scared and started to cry. Instead of taking my kick I ran off the field and ran over to mum.

Later on in the game there was another free kick for our team and it was just in front of where I was. Even though I wasn't really paying the game I decided that I might as well have a kick.
I did an awesome kick and guess what happened? AJ marked it. He did the greatest kick and kicked a goal from the middle of the ground, it was awesome!

I may not have actually played football and my team lost, but I did have fun.
I was much happier when the game was over and I could go and relax with my Auskick friends.

Perhaps I will actually play Auskick next year, who knows?

The Holidays are Over

Well the holidays are over and it is time to head back to school in the morning. Here is a quick recap of what we have been up to.

It has been a great holiday, with lots of great things to do, but the best part is that no one was sick or injured this time!

Another Busy Day

How did you spend your Saturday?  I bet it wasn't as much fun as my day.  First I went to my friends birthday party where we made our own birthday treats.  Then I had to rush back from that birthday party to go to another birthday party.

At this birthday party, we had a fashion show.  It wasn't a typical fashion show, for this fashion show, we had to make our own clothes.  Now you are probably thinking that making clothing for a fashion show isn't that difficult for a group of talented girls, but it is a little more difficult when all you can use to make your outfit is aluminium foil!

This is the outfit that my team designed and made.
I thought it was fantastic.  Unfortunately it wasn't the best outfit of the day, it was the second best.  Even as the second best outfit, we still won a prize, and it was delicious!

I had a fantastic day celebrating the birthday of my friends.  I hope you had a great day too.

School Holiday Fun

For the last 3 days we have been at a school holiday program and it was awesome.  We did rap, hip hop, puppetry and animations.  Click here for AJ's animation and here for Milla's animation.

If the animations didn't impress you, check out our rap.  We all wrote our own parts about things that make us feel good.
It was a great school holiday program,

Carousels and Snow Storms

What do you do to make a couple of  boys feel better about their trip to the hair dressers?  You go to Waterfront City for some fun.

First stop the carousel.

Second stop, the snow storm.

It wasn't real snow, it was bubbles being blown everywhere but it looked just like snow.  Add in a play in the toy store and a junk food snack and everyone is feeling better, even grumpy boys.

Butchered

We went for a walk this morning.  We thought we would just go park hopping and grab some lunch but guess where we ended up?  At the hairdressers, or as I say the HAIR DESTROYERS!

This is how great my hair was to start.

It was kinda long so I thought I would get it trimmed.  I asked for short back and sides, just to keep nanny happy but I asked for the top to still be long.  I even pointed to where the top should be cut to (just so I can see, but still down to my eyes).  Well the hairdresser really didn't listen she cut the front so short.
It is horrible, I can't wait until my hair grows long again.

I am only smiling because I wasn't the only one who had their hair butchered - Milla and Will had their hair cut too and their hair was much shorter than they expected.  We can all suffer short hair together.

The Story of the Turtle, the Crocodile and the Monitor

We wanted to do something special for Dad's birthday but we weren't sure what we should do.  We waited until we were pretty sure that it wasn't going to rain all day then we packed a huge picnic and jumped into the car for the long drive out to the Healesville Sanctuary.

We have only been to Healesville Sanctuary once before and that was ages and ages ago, when Milli was a baby so it was almost like going somewhere completely new all over again.

We had an awesome time picnicing and exploring.  Our timing was impeccable we managed to see the Birds of Prey, the parrot show, pat a goanna, cuddle a wallaby as well as all the normal things like see fruit foxes, lyrebirds, kangaroos, platypus, tassie devils and wombats.  The best part of the whole day was visiting the reptile area and that brings me to my story, the story of the Turtle, the Crocodile and the Monitor.

You see, just as we walked into the reptile exhibit they began feeding the turtles, crocodiles and the monitors that were sharing a home.  Of course they all wanted to eat the same fish but they all had different ways to try and get the fish.

The monitors were super fast, the turtle was much slower and the crocodile had no idea at all.  Generally the monitors would get the fish because they were so fast.  The turtle worked pretty hard to get to his food and sometimes he was lucky and just seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

Eventually there was only one fish left in the tank.  The monitors didn't seem to be interested in any more food and swam right by it so the turtle saw his chance.  Up he swam, along the edge of the tank.

He spotted a gap between the glass wall of its tank and one of the logs in his habitat and through it he went - almost.  The turtle got stuck.  He was wedged in there tight.   He kept on swimming and pushing, trying to squeeze through the gap.  We were all cheering him on, 'Go, turtle, come on, you can do it!'  Soon our cheers became panicked cries, 'Hurry up turtle, the crocodile is headed your way.  Hurry up!'

It seemed like it was taking forever but eventually the turtle made his way through the tiny gap to get the fish.  Go super turtle!

Unfortunately the crocodile had spied the last fish in the tank also and was headed towards it.  Just as the turtle grabbed the fish, the crocodile snapped.  He missed the fish but he had caught something.  Oh no, the turtle had caught the turtle by the neck.  Thinking that he had the fish, the crocodile swam away dragging the turtle with him.

I don't know if the crocodile decided that turtles don't taste very nice or if the turtle was really a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and was super strong but somehow he escaped the jaws of the crocodile.  It was totally cool to watch!  Go turtle!  THE END

So that is the story of the Turtle, the Crocodile and the Monitor.  Here are a few more photos from our day at Healesville Sanctuary to show you just how amazing it is.

Happy birthday Dad,

An Almost Birthday

Soon it is Daddy's birthday.  The presents we have for dad are all wrapped and sitting on the table, just waiting until it is his birthday so he can open them.  I even wrote invitations to a special birthday party for daddy.

Everyone (dad, mum, AJ, nan, pop, Sharn and Dave) came to the party and played party games.  I even convinced mum that we should have some birthday cake a day early as a part of the birthday party.  Of course once you have had a party and eaten cake it is time to open presents, even if it isn't your real birthday!
Dad loved his presents - lego and an iPhone.

Happy almost birthday Dad.  I wonder what we will do to celebrate dad's actual birthday?

Boo and Miss Moo

Sometimes I can't find anyone to play dress ups with me so I have to start being creative.  Luckily I am very creative and my toys like to dress up too.

Today Miss Moo and I decided to go out for a shopping adventure.  It was a special day so Miss Moo wore my favourite flowery dress and my red shoes.  She looked so lovely I even let her wear my beads.  Then we grabbed our handbags and it was time to go shopping.
Thanks for a great adventure Miss Moo,

Sharing

It is pretty good sharing a bedroom again.  I have someone to talk to late at night.  I have someone to play with when I should be sleeping and I have someone to help clean up the mess.

I think I am starting to remember why we stopped sharing a bedroom - boys are messy.  Not only do brothers annoy sisters, they bring over their friends to help.  They leave their toys everywhere.  They mess up my stuff.  Oh and they smell too!
Luckily I live on top bunk now and no boys are allowed on top bunk!
