Holiday Fun

What do you like to do in the holidays?  We like to visit fun places, like Ikea but this time mum went to Ikea without us.  Luckily mum made it up to us by letting us build what she bought from Ikea - another set of shelves.
I don't know what everyone is talking about, making stuff isn't that hard, all you have to do is follow the instructions.  If you don't know how to read the instructions you can make your own just like Milla did.  In case you can't read what Milla has written on her instructions it says "you need iNsRosheNs and a skroodriv."  I think she is right, all you do need is instructions and a screwdriver.  Of course it helps if you have a mum that likes building stuff when the kids get bored!

Building is a little bit fun, playing is more fun!

Barbie Forever

It is the first day of the school holidays and the girls all got together for a special day out.  We went to see the Barbie Forever exhibition in the city.  It was an awesome day, (even if mum did insist on taking photos every step of the way!)

We caught the train to the city.

We were so eager to get there that we arrived a little early so we stopped to have a look at some of the amazing artwork in Federation Square.

As we waited to go into the exhibition, mum took my photo and finally it was time to go into the exhibition.  You weren't allowed to take photos in the exhibition, you had to wait until you got to the shop at the end of the exhibition.

I used a computer to design my very own Barbie doll.  I chose what she would look like and then found the clothes that she should wear.  It was heaps of fun.  When I was happy with the way she looked, I printed out my design.  After I convinced mum to pay for the design, I posted the design and waited.
Before long my Barbie was parading around on the catwalk, looking exactly as I had designed.  If you look closely, you can see my name under the Barbie doll.

Look, here is the beautiful Barbie doll that I designed.  Isn't she beautiful!

And finally, at the end of our girl's day out with our designer Barbie dolls.

Thanks for a great day out.

Money Money Money

I love counting money.  I have counted all of my pocket money AND all of my savings.  I have helped dad count the money in the change box.  All that is left to count is the play money.
It may not be real, but it is fun to throw up into the air and dance under!  I wonder what I would be able to do with all this money if it were real?  I am sure it would make for a fun school holiday!

Changing Rooms

Did we tell you that we are having lots of people stay with us in the next month?  Probably not, but we are.  To make some more room, Milla and I have decided to share a room again.  We were going to just live in my room, but mum decided bright and early this morning that we might need a bit more room so we moved into Milli's room.  To do that, we had to move the double decker beds from my old room into my new room and move Milli's giant (queen sized) bed into the back bedroom.  I think that dad thinks mum is a little bit crazy but we had fun helping move furniture and other stuff.

It took almost all day to get it done but I think it is worth it.
We like is so much we might share a room forever.  What do you think?

Chocolatey Bliss

As a special treat after school, Aunty Sharn took us to Lime Bar.  Now Sharn spoils us and takes us out for treats a fair bit.  Normally we just order a hot chocolate or a drink but today we must have been extra adorable - Sharn bought us a dessert too!

Occasionally we will have a spotty cookie but today we decided to have a mouse, oops I mean a chocolate mousse.  It was delicious!
Thanks for spoiling us Aunty Sharn,

An Update Courtesy of a Google Search

Do you remember, way back in May last year that we were fighting to save our park?  If you don't remember, you can read all about our politically active ambitions and the signs we had in our house and in all the houses in the area to help to raise the profile of not building a road tunnel in Kensington.

Anyway, after all of our hard work the government finally decided that it wouldn't be a very good investment to build new and expensive roads and tunnels that we didn't really need.  The people of Kensington all celebrated and we all lived happily ever after.

So now we move on to the next part of our story, the Google part...

Well last night dad decided to Google our names and he found Milla's name listed as a part of the 'Submissions in Response to the East West Report'.  Right there, in amongst all of the letters submitted was the picture that Milla drew when she was 4 to say she didn't want a tunnel built instead of a great park.  He looked a little harder and he found my submission too.  This was the very first email that I sent all by myself.  You can tell that I was just a little kid then, I didn't know how to spell!  It really didn't matter about the spelling, you could still tell that JJ Holland Park is cooler than any other park.

What do you find when you Google your name?

Thursday Night

Normally of a Thursday night, dad is eager to make sure that we are tucked away into bed on time so that he can set up for a game of poker.  It really isn't a hassle because poker doesn't start until an hour after our bedtime and I am normally asleep before it starts, even if I try really hard to stay awake.  Well tonight was a little bit different, there was no one else coming over to play poker.  We still went to bed out our normal time but dad didn't have to set up for poker.  Instead he thought he would relax.
Look at what I could see when I looked out my bedroom window!

No doubt he is playing poker anyway, just on his computer instead.

Sesame Sunrise

Minor catastrophes occurred this morning and mum ended up not going to work early like she was tried to, instead she came home to take us to school and dad could go to work early instead.  Although we couldn't stay home to watch Sunrise to see Juice, mum remembered to put a video in to tape it so we could watch the cooking action after school.

When we got home we made some popcorn and curled up on the couch to watch... Sesame Street!  When did Sesame Street become a part of Sunrise?  Don't tell me, we taped the wrong show!  Luckily we were sent a link to the show by the Star herself.  So if you want to see the chef in action, click over here!

Juice is a natural on TV but the most important question needs to be asked - when do we get Sunrise pizza?

Home Cook Hero

If you are at home in the morning, or somewhere that you can watch a TV, you need to watch Sunrise at 8.45am.  Juice (that is Tiger's mum) is going to be cooking up a storm, making pumpkin pizza.

Click here if you want to find out more about the pizza and the competition.  Oh and if you are near a TV, can you tape it for me, I have to go to school!

Our Assembly

Two weeks ago my class was supposed to host assembly but the assembly was cancelled because there were too many kids away with the flu.  We couldn't have our assembly last week because it was a public holiday so there was no school.

Finally today we got to host our assembly.  It was fantastic, we sang a song about kangaroos to the entire school and heaps of parents but the best part was when I won another award.
I am a Student of the Week
This time I won my award for helping my class partner to learn the dice game in maths.
Yay, me!

An Extra Long Weekend

After a hugely busy weekend walking for miles and miles and miles, as well as eating heaps and heaps of birthday cake, I really needed to do something a little more relaxing.  I settled in for a quiet afternoon of craft with Chloe.

Mum was feeling particularly brave - she let us use her sewing machine.  We all made cuddly colourful butterflies.
I love creating beautiful crafty things,

YAY - More Cake

We had to have more birthday cake today.

This time it was for Aunty Sharn's birthday.

Happy Birthday Sharn, I hope you had a great day.

Harmony

What did you do today?  We went for a Walk in Harmony.  We started at Flemington Community Centre and walked all the way in to Docklands to watch Essendon play football at Etihad Stadium.  There were heaps of us there and we all had a great time, we even got to have a walk around the ground with everyone in the crowd cheering us on.

Hopefully by getting Davey to see Essendon play, he will decide to barrack for them too.  I think that it is only fair, I cheer for Manchester United just like him!

The Secret is Out!

Well a long time ago I was told a very important secret, one that I promised that I wouldn't tell everyone until Davey Doovie moved to Melbourne.  I know that by now nearly everyone knows or has guessed but I am going to announce it anyway - I am going to be a cousin again!

Aunty Sharn and Davey Doovie are having a baby.

Baby Billy is going to be born around my birthday (in October in case you have forgotten).  I wonder if Billy is born on my birthday, will Sharn give me Billy as a birthday present?

I can't wait to be a cousin again.

Back in Melbourne

Guess who is back in Melbourne?  Well me of course, but Davey Doovie arrived yesterday and he is going to live here.  (Well not here, in my house but just up the road at Aunty Sharns!)

I know that Aunty Sharn was worried that she wouldn't have as much time to spend with us, but really it just means that I have someone else really cool to hang out with!  I am sure that I can work really hard to convince him to barrack for Essendon too and we can go to the footy together.

Welcome Davey and happy birthday too!

Confused?

If I were to ask you a question about transport, do you think you would know the answer?

Let's see...
What type of transport do you see on a lake?

Now I am sure that you said BOAT.  Normally the answer would be a boat of some sort, but not in Yarrawonga.  You see they are emptying the lake again so the cars and trailers are being parked IN THE LAKE and the boats are out on the river!
Where you see the cars parked is where we would normally go swimming.  Luckily it is too cold to go swimming!

Cutting School

Can you believe it, my mum convinced me to wag school!  I really thought that mum would be much more responsible than that, especially when she knows that I love school and have already missed too much school.  I guess that this was a special occasion, or at least that is what mum said.  You see, Nanny came down for a quick visit today and asked if we wanted to catch the train back to Yarrawonga to surprise Poppy.  I couldn't decide;  I really didn't want to miss out on school, but I thought that it would be great to see the look of surprise on Poppy's face when he picks Nan up.  AJ had already packing so I decided that missing one day of school would probably be OK!
I really wish I had a camera with me to show you the look of surprise on Poppy's face - it was worth it!
