On Safari

Finally we had a chance to do something holiday-ish during our holidays, we went to Werribee Open Range Zoo.

It was fantastic.  We met Zoe, Luca and Abe there and went exploring.  Naturally we went on the safari tour, but the best part of the day was wandering through the grasslands to find all of the animals on our own.  All of the animals came out to say hello.  The lioness were wandering up to the fence, the monkeys swung by and even the hippos climbed out of the pool to say hello, it was so cool.

Of course, even in the bits where there were no animals we still had fun.  There were skeletons to excavate, giant ant hills to climb, boats to row and bridges to cross.  We all had a fantastic day at the zoo.  I hope we get to explore there again some time soon.

Recovery

What better way to recover from the happiest day of the year than go to another party.

I went to Amelia's gymnastics birthday party today.
It was great fun doing gymnastics, but the best part was getting to see Amelia again - for the third time in a week!

Happy birthday Amelia,

The Happiest Day of the Year

Apparently, according to dad, Grand Final Day is the happiest day of the year.  That is the whole reason that we have been living in a crazy construction zone for the past few weeks.  He even thinks that it is better than Christmas, especially when he gets presents.

Look at dad's happiest day of the year present - the gigantic TV to go out the back!

Now that we have such a fantastic yard (and house too), we can have great parties at our house, check it out...

There is plenty of room to sit and relax.

As well as stadium seating to watch the game.

We all get to go and play half-time heroes.

And then wander back to watch the end of the game.

Yeah, dad might be right.  Grand final day could be the happiest day of the year!

Water Play

The sun is shining so what better thing to do than go to the beach.

Now that I am feeling heaps better it was great being out in the sunshine and splashing in the water.  We even caught some sea monkeys in a bucket.  It was a great day.

Our first beach trip for the season was heaps of fun, but the fun didn't stop at the beach.  When we got home, our backyard was finished and we could fill the hot tub.

This time tomorrow and we should be in the hot tub relaxing, I can't wait.

Good Morning

Well the rest of the carpet was laid yesterday but we didn't have time to get any furniture moved to the right rooms before we went to bed.  Apparently there was too much stuff and it was all really heavy.  Instead of sleeping in our new bedrooms, we had to sleep in mum and dad's study room.  If mum and dad slept, it must have been on the couch downstairs.

Look what we woke to this morning,
Milla's fairy garden room.

AJ's game room

Our new bedrooms are fantastic, we can't wait until we move in.

Progress

Mum and dad were really busy the other night.  They moved ALL the furniture from the top floor to anywhere else they could fit it.  They had to move everything so that carpet could be laid upstairs.  Then last night they had to move everything off the middle floor so that carpet could be laid there too.

Look, the kids study is all ready for new carpet.

But look at how much stuff ended up downstairs!

The fun part will be getting everything back to where it is supposed to go ready for the 'happiest day of the year'.

It is a good thing that we will be sleeping through all of the furniture moving and cleaning up!

Super Heroes

OK, so AJ really IS sick.  It wasn't enough that he stayed home ALL week to sleep, he didn't even want to watch tv or play on the computer.  I knew that AJ really was sick when I went to another birthday party this weekend and AJ decided to stay at home and rest.  That is 2 birthday parties in 2 weekends that he has missed out on.

This time it was Macsen's super hero party.

I kind of miss having my big brother around to annoy all of the time, I hope he is feeling better really soon.

Hot Tub

Look, there is a builder IN our hot tub!

Isn't it great that Simon is so good at building.  I can't wait until everything is finished and I can actually swim in the hot tub!

Performing

I didn't go to school today because I was too sick.  I really was sick - I spent all weekend sleeping.  I didn't really want to go to Bright Stars either, but it was the end of term performance and Milli really wanted to go and I wasn't allowed to stay home by myself.  Instead I put on my favourite costume and off I went.

Luckily wearing my Harry Potter costume gives me some extra energy.

Milli had fun too, even if she did pretend she was shy!

We played games, danced and sang songs and naturally all of the parents clapped and cheered.  It was fun and I am glad that I went.

Another Mess Update

Well our house and yard are starting to look amazing, the only problem is that they aren't finished yet so there is still mess everywhere...

The deck and the storage seat are there but the rest of the yard has to be built.

The giant cupboard in mum and dad's room is painted but waiting for shelves to be built.

Everything has been moved to the study ready for carpet to be laid upstairs.

How will I ever find all of my treasures?

Missing Out

Can you believe that I have only just found out that Sebastian, one of my kinder friends lives on the other side of Circle Park.  I only found out when I got an invitation to his birthday party!

Anyway, today I went to Sebastian's birthday party and AJ said that he was too sick to go.  He really missed out.  As well as all of the party food, balloons and birthday fun, we found fuzzy caterpillars on the fence posts.

Isn't it cute?

I really wanted to take my fuzzy caterpillar home for a pet but mum wouldn't let me, she said that the caterpillar had to live with his friends on Sebastian's side of the park.

I really think that the caterpillar would have had a fun holiday at my house.

Jump for Joy

Can you believe that only yesterday I couldn't even walk in the backyard?  Well look now...
Isn't it amazing!  Now I can run and jump and have heaps of fun in my new backyard.

I wonder when it will be finished?

Where Did the Yard Go?

Hmmmm, we have nowhere to play inside because there is mess everywhere with walls being built and furniture in crazy places.

Now we can't even go outside to play!

Do you think that we will ever be able to play outside again?

Feeling Blue

I don't think that I will colour my face with texta again in a hurry.
Look what I looked like when I went to school today!

If I had a dollar for every time I had to explain why I was so blue I would have a DS by now.

At least my face matched my school uniform!

I'm NOT Tired

Tonight when we went to bed, we promised mum that we wouldn't be noisy and crazy and that we would go to sleep...

We didn't promise that we would go straight to sleep!

I wonder if we will be allowed to have textas in our bedroom anymore?

Celebrations

We had a busy day today; Nanny and Poppy came to visit, it is Father's Day AND Nanny's birthday.

We had fun playing football in Circle Park.

We had to hide in the tunnel to escape the rain so we drew a birthday message for Nanny.  It is hard to write a message upside-down and back-to-front!

Time to sing Happy Birthday and eat cake.

Happy Fathers Day dad and Poppy Pete and happy birthday Nanny (and 'Nanny' Bette too), we hope you all had a great day.

Bon Voyage

Tonight Sharn is going on a plane.  She is going to London to see Dave and will be gone for an entire month.
I will miss you Sharn.  Luckily you will get back from London in time for my birthday!

I hope you have a great flight, and don't forget to ask Dave why you had to go to London, he should come here instead!

Happy holidays Sharn, can I come with you next time?

Art Auctions

Tonight was my first ever art show at school.  It was really cool.  Everyone came to have a look at the amazing pieces of art that the school kids have made.  I had 2 pieces of art on display, the first was a pot person that I made with some of my friends.  The second was a fighter jet sculpture.
This is my fighter jet (it is late at night so the jet is tired!)

As well as looking at all of the art, there was an auction for all of the class pieces of art.  My class had 4 pieces for auction, 2 entire group self portraits with an olympic theme, another self portrait on trains and my favourite piece 'Who Sank the Boat' where we all did self portraits of us on a boat.

I really wanted to buy the last piece of work and dad tried to buy it for me, but he chickened out of the auction when it hit $350.  I was a little disappointed that I didn't get the best piece of art in the entire auction, but then I figured that if dad was going to spend that much on a picture for my new bedroom, perhaps I can get him to buy me a DS!

What do you think?

Room Mate
Look who wanted to sleep in the blue room with us tonight!

Luckily mum was brave enough to catch the white tail spider so we could have a better look at it without it climbing into bed with us!

Essendon Auskick

Today, as well as doing all the normal Auskick things like kicking, handball, taking speckies and playing footy we learned all about being an umpire.  It was great fun.

I really liked practicing being a goal umpire!

When the clinic was finished, we were all given awards and if we were really lucky, a showbag from Essendon!

Well Auskick is over for another year, what will I do of a Wednesday night now?

Gold

A few weeks ago, AJ and I had our dance assessments.  We have had to wait for ages to see how we went.  Finally we received our results AND our medals.
Naturally we both danced really well!

Spring Clean

Spring is here and it is time to Spring clean, but we can't yet, there is too much mess.  Now there is a giant mess inside the house AND outside too!

This is in the corner of our bedroom, it used to be where our beds were but eventually it will be mum and dad's study area.

Outside the backyard is a gigantic clay-pit.  There are a few holes in the yard ready for the deck stumps to go in, but now it is just a place for us to play and make more mess.

Renovating is messy!
