Old School

Our dancing school had its 20th birthday party, and we were invited. We had a great time dancing around, playing games, chasing balloons, watching the clown do magic tricks and of course having birthday snacks.

I wonder why there was no birthday cake? Perhaps it was because a dancing studio can't actually blow out any candles and everyone knows that there is no point in having a birthday cake if there are no candles!

I wonder if we will still be dancing here when the dancing school is 25 years old?

We're Almost Back - We Hope!

Well we are almost back in the real world - a world where the computer works properly at least some of the time. At the moment, the computer is working, but the monitor has gone a funny colour and the modem keeps dropping out. In between using dad's laptop and the temperamental real computer, we have finally managed to catch up and post our recent blogs.

It should keep you busy for a while if you do decide to read them all. Some of the things you have missed since we have been offline include our mid-year dance performance, school holiday adventures, a few birthday parties and heaps more other things.

We hope to keep you posted more regularly.

Rainbow Cake

It was Ella and Taylah's birthday the other day, so today we had a celebration. Did you know that when you are 4 years old, you have to make your own cake for your birthday? The best part about making your own birthday cake is that you get to decide what type of cake.

We made a rainbow cake - it had red, yellow, blue and green swirls in it, with chocolate icing and rainbow chocolate chips on top. It was delicious.

How to make delicious biscuits.

We made biscuits at school today and they were delicious. Do you want to know how to make them.

First mix together about 80 grams of softened butter with 1/2 a cup of caster sugar. When that is mixed together you add a tablespoon of condensed milk and 3/4 of a cup of self raising flour.

When everything is mixed together, roll out the mixture on the table, just like playdough, and cut out some interesting shapes. We decorated our biscuits with coconut and sultanas, but if you aren't allergic to food, you could add chocolate or nuts.

Then you need to cook the biscuits for about 15 minutes in an oven set at 180c. When they are cooked and have cooled down, you need to eat the biscuits really quickly.

PS - don't forget to wash your hands and clean up all of the mess!

Again

After not going to the zoo for a million years,
I have been to the zoo twice in 2 days!

Yesterday I went to the zoo with Zoe, Luca and Liam and today I was there with Amelia and Zachary. I love the zoo, especially the elephants, although we always spend more time playing on the elephant statues than we do looking at the real elephants.

We love visiting the butterflies too. Amelia was really lucky, the butterflies loved to sit on her boots. The butterflies must love pink, but I hate pink.

Anyway, I hope that I don't have to wait another million years before I get to go to the zoo again.

Happy Families

Did you know that everyone in our family barracks for a different footy team. I barrack for the best team - the Bombers, Milla likes the Bulldogs the best (and the Kangaroos and Koalas too!), mum cheers for the Kangaroos and dad goes for the Magpies.

The Bombers have been playing really well this year, but I wasn't very happy this weekend - the Magpies beat the Bombers!

At least the Bombers can fly faster than a magpie!

Poppy's Present

To get back in to Poppy's good books, we gave him the best birthday presents in the world - tickets to the races at Bathurst!

And to think that Poppy was happy just getting the cool painting I did for him!

I can't wait - I get to go to the races too.

Surprise

Well Poppy survived his birthday party. We think he guessed that we were trying to trick him when we decided to go out for dinner instead of having a barbeque like we normally would.

When he got over being annoyed at everyone celebrating his birthday, Poppy had a great time at his party. There were millions of people there, and not only grownups - there were lots of kids too. We spent all night playing with our cousins. It was great fun.

Happy birthday Poppy,

Feeling Blue

AJ painted a really cool picture to give to Poppy for his 60th birthday. I decided that I would paint him a picture too.

What was mum thinking, letting me loose with paints, especially oil paints, on Friday the 13th.

Silly mama,

Shhhh...It's a Secret!

It is Poppy's 60th birthday soon and we are going to have a surprise party for him. He won't be very happy. Unlike me, he doesn't really like being the centre of attention. It is probably a good thing that our internet doesn't work properly at the moment and I can't upload my blog posts until it is fixed.

Anyway, I have decided to paint a special picture for Poppy.

Do you think that he will like it?
It is of Poppy sitting at the races at Bathurst, watching Skaifey win.

Remembering

On our way back from the Children's Gardens, we found an amazing new place to explore - the Shrine of Remembrance.

The Shrine is an amazing building that was built by the people in Victoria a long time ago. They built it to remember all of the Australian and New Zealand people were hurt or killed during the war.

We learned heaps of things about the different wars that Australians have been in. We saw flags, uniforms and even saw some movies and photos. There were even models of different navy ships and fighter planes.
After we saw the light that shines through the hole in the roof to light up the word LOVE on a plaque and we explored the rest of the Shrine we donated some money and laid a poppy in the gardens to say 'thank you' to all of the people who have fought in the wars.

Footy Players

My friend Ethan is really lucky - he has someone to play footy with, he has a brand new baby brother!

Xavier is only a few days old, but already he looks like he can play footy. It won't be long before we can all go to the park together to play.

I can't wait.

Monsters

Not all monsters are scary. Today I met Mike and Sully, the monsters from Monsters Inc at ACMI at Federation Square.

Milli, Danielle and Emma were a little frightened, but I explained to them that Mike and Scully make kids laugh instead of scream? That means that they good monsters and are friendly.

I love friendly monsters.

Girls Day

Finally, I have girls to play with. My cousin Danielle is having a holiday with us and another big-girl friend Emma is going to stay with us tonight too. To celebrate, we went into the city to explore.

Even though it was a rainy day, we had heaps of fun. I showed Danielle all around Federation Square and ACMI. I even showed her how to play computer games in the Control Room.

I think that I taught Danielle and Emma how to catch the train to my house so that they can come and stay with me again.

How Old?

Well it is my Dad's birthday and I don't really know how old he is. First we gave him some lego and the box said it was for 8 - 14 year olds. Then we made him a birthday cake that had only 4 candles on it.

He must be a grown-up because kids weren't invited to his birthday party, only people he invited were grown-ups who played poker!

I really don't know how old he is, but I am looking forward to playing with all of dad's new lego!

Cheering

Today at dancing, we all learned how to be a cheerleader. It was so much fun.

What other kids activity involves me dancing around with my friends, shaking pom-poms. It was fantastic!

When I grow up, can I be a cheerleader?

Red Back Spider Man

I love school holidays, I get do special things. Today I went to the zoo with Liam and Seamus. I love going to the zoo with Liam, his mum is really cool. As well as visiting all of the animals that I haven't seen for ages, we went for a ride on the carousel AND had our faces painted!

Aren't I the coolest Spider Man (with a choclolate mouth) you have ever seen?
