Ahoy Me Hearties...

Yesterday I went to my first ever kinder kid party that was just for kids - the adults (and little sisters) didn't stay with us!

It was little Michael's 5th birthday and all his pirate friends came to play. We all dressed up and made pirate hats and treasure bags for all the loot we found on our treasure hunt in the park. We played on a big pirate ship and even walked the plank!

It was so cool - I wish it was January so that it could be my 5th birthday!

This time last month...

Did you know that this time last month, mum was in Tokyo, looking for Ellen!

Finally she has decided to share some of her Japanese Adventures with everyone. If you want to find out about all the amazing things you can do when you are in Japan, you should check out the new part of our blog - Far Away Land.

A Kinder Visitor

Guess what everyone, my mum came to visit me at kinder again today. It was really exciting because she was really suposed to be at work but she drove to the kinder instead. She came in to say hello to everyone and then let everyone have a little look at her work car - a police car.

Even though my kinder friends know who my mum is, they didn't know that she was a policeman-girl! I was really excited having my mum as the special visitor at kinder.

It was so cool.

I love it when mum comes to kinder.

Reading Time

Did you know that 'Children's Book Week' has started and there are lots of fun festivals with activities for kids to do? Today we went to a book week festival at Federation Square.

It was heaps of fun, with face painting, magicians, book making, paper crafts and even story reading. AJ and I were really good, so after we had our faces painted, we also got a showbag to share AND a book and balloon.

But one of the best things about going to festivals at Fed Square is that it is right next to Birrarung Marr - one of our favourite parks.

After we explored Art Play and watched some famous book people draw and paint some new pictures for books, we went to the park. AJ was tired and had a rest in the sandpit and we buried him!

After we had our lunch, we sat by the river and read some more stories with my Ellen.

It was such a lovely way to spend a Sunday!

Twirly Stick Park
This afternoon, we all went to twirly-stick park at Docklands. One of AJ's friends named this park the Twirly Stick park because there are heaps of different twirly things to play on - the twirly sticks and the twirly spinning ring as well as the twirly spinning sculpture.
I liked playing on the twirly sticks, but I wasn't brave enough to go on the twirly spinning ring.
Ellen and AJ were both brave enough to go on the twirly spinning ring. Daddy helped them to spin really fast. They spun so fast that they both fell off. It was really, really funny!
I think that Twirly Stick Park is one of my favourite parks to visit. There are lots of interesting places to explore, heaps of room to run around and to fly a kite, as well as lots of interesting things to play on.

Super Star!

Super Star!

AJ's medal, originally uploaded by superRelish.

Guess what everyone, it is official...I am a superstar!

Today at tap dancing, Helen gave me my medal and a certificate that tells everyone just how good I am at dancing. I really didn't have to do a medal to let everyone know that I am a good dancer, but it is great to have my very first medal. It is so cool!

At the Zoo
What do you do at the zoo?

(one day when blogger will let me upload photos I will put a photo of what we do at the zoo)

Most people go to the zoo to see all of the animals, but not us, we go to dance on the stage and play. Sure we do visit the animals, especially the seals, the wombats and the butterflies. The real reason we visit the butterflies is because it is just next to the cafe. We know that if we are near the cafe the grown-ups will have a coffee and we get to have a Milo icecream - yum! We visit the seals because they are right next to Carousel Park. No one really knows why we visit the wombats, maybe because they are really funny!

I Did It!

Well I did it, I actually danced for my very first ever medal - without breaking my leg! It was pretty much just like a normal class, but with only 4 kids in the class, and 3 adults watching us and writing about what we did.
I think that I danced really well. When I finished my medal test, mum dad and Ellen were all smiling a lot, and they all gave me high 5's, so it must have been pretty good.
I have to wait a week or two to get the results, but I will let you all know as soon as I find out.

Break a Leg!

Everyone keeps telling me to break a leg! I don't know why they keep saying it, I think that it is kind of mean. If I break my leg, how will I be able to do my tap dancing medal this afternoon. I think that everyone should say good luck and have fun instead.

Mum's Home
We got up really, really, really early this morning to go to the airport to get mum and Ellen. When we arrived at 1/4 to 8, mum and Ellen were already there. They said something about no delays coming in through customs. We didn't really care, we just wanted lots and lots and lots of cuddles.
(a photo of us at the airport will go here when Ellen comes to stay tomorrow!)
Mum said that she didn't get much sleep on the plane, so after we put mum's suitcase full of surprises into the car, we went to Tia's for the day so that mum could recover.
We have lots of lovely presents from mum and Ellen, but the best present of all is having all of our family together again for big hugs!

Mum's Coming Home!

That's right, mum is on her way to Narita Airport. Finally she has helped Ellen pack up all of her things and they can come back to Melbourne. This time tomorrow, we can have mum AND Ellen kisses. HOORAY!
